Second Week in Lent
Practice a Touch of Kindness with God, a family member, a long-time friend, a church friend, a child, a teenager or young adult, a classmate or colleague, a neighbor or stranger. Begin by using any or all of the prompts below:
Check in on someone you haven’t connected with for a while.
Listen more than you talk in a conversation.
Give thanks to God for kindness you have witnessed in someone else.
Pray for someone that you suspect might be struggling.
Forgive someone who has harmed you in witness to God’s grace and kindness, transforming your experience. If possible, let forgiveness be known in your connection with the one involved.
Choose YOUR own creative way to express kindness.
Consider how God’s Spirit is stirring up kindness in our world, then find a way to join in this sacred work. Where can your kindness take shape in amends making or reparations so that God’s redemptive purposes may be known?
Reflection Question
With whom are you unable to share kindness?
Each week's prompts will be live on Sundays.
Come back each week to deepen your practice of love!
Find a playful way to express kindness toward someone today.
Write an encouraging card to someone who might need to be “seen.”
Offer someone a fist-bump or high five.
Draw a picture or write a poem/song for someone you care about.
